CoBI Supports the Arts

The mission of CoBI includes helping people with brain injuries to find meaning and purpose in their lives. One way this often happens is through the arts.

CoBI recently awarded two grants to art classes specially designed to help aspiring artists with brain injuries to find their creative voices through paint and ceramics. CoBI awarded the Wayne Art Center in Pennsylvania $1000 to expand its “Broaden Your World” Painting and Ceramics for All Persons with Disabilities Program. The Center offers free 6-week classes (only cost is $10 for materials) to individuals with disabilities, their caretakers, families and friends.

CoBI also granted the Brain Injury Association of Delaware $780 to sponsor 5 artists in their new Art Club. The club is collaborative effort between the Brain Injury Association of Delaware, the Gilbert W. Perry, Jr. Center for the Arts, and Lisa Bartoli of Art Therapy Express. The 2-month long series of classes concludes with a Gala and Exhibition of work created. If you are interested in finding out more about either program:
